SEPANG INT’L CIRCUIT AND THEN HE WAS OFF!

Image
Jonathan needed to be dropped off at the airport at noon, which gave us time to tour the Sepang International Circuit, where the Formula One ran for nineteen years!  We paid 60 ringgets a piece for the tour and it was EXCELLENT!  Growing up with the Indianapolis 500, the Formula One, and The Brickyard 400, none of us had ever really thought about what all goes on behind the scene for such huge events!  This got us up close and personal!   And just like that we were at the airport dropping Jonathan off for his long trek back to the states.  Here, Chloe, you’ll be happy to know that we sent him home with a mask!   When we got back to our condo, John and I packed our bags for our early morning pickup (3:40AM) for our flight to Laos!  But first, we FINALLY got to take the Vespas Street Food Tour!  Were we happy that we got to squeeze that in before we leave KL! (But we were bummed that Jon had...

WE THOUGHT THE DAY WAS MADE!

Image
We woke up to a blue sky with SUNSHINE this morning and thought our day was made!  This was Jon’s last day in KL, and the first thing on the agenda was a tour of the Petronas Towers! We spotted these cables off the second tower and John and I knew immediately what to look for—window washers!  Oh, the education we got living in Dubai!  And, sure enough, we spotted them! After our time was up at Petronas, we hightailed it up the mountain to Genting Highlands — we had some gambling to do!  We arrived, like last time, in a cloud!  Good-bye blue sky and sunshine; hello Genting! After losing our shirts at the Roulette table (not really, thank goodness) we walked around until we found Skytropolis!  What an amazing place! The boys dined on some Dim Sum before we found our way outside, in the Grab line, ready to  head back down that mountain!  While we waited for Grab, two Buddhist mo...

RAINED IN!

Image
We had high hopes when we woke up this morning! Despite the beautiful sunrise, the weather prediction for the day was rain, a whole lot of rain! 😳 Once it started, mixed with thunder and lightening, Jonathan opted out of going to Batu Caves!  Instead, we decided to stay in, relax, and watch a movie! Then off to the Songei Wang Mall, once again, to pick up Jon’s glasses.  They hadn’t arrived to the store yet due to the storms! 😳 But the guy, who had helped Jonathan, told us he would deliver them to our condo later that night!  How do you like that for service?  Jonathan snacked on some Sushi (OMG, it looked sooo good), which he said was DELICIOUS and CHEAP!  (Remember to divide by four!) We had booked a Selangor Firefly Tour, but figured it would definitely be cancelled as it continued to pour.  We spoke with the tour guide who assured us it was still on.  He actually picked us up at the mall, which gave Jon time to buy some souvenirs...
