WE WALKED AND THEN WE WALKED SOME MORE!

And so we took to the streets late this morning, after we FaceTimed with Joe and Scho and Facebook Chatted with Bev!  Oh, technology is wonderful!

There is so much to see when walking the streets of Vientiane!  There are Buddhist Shrines everywhere, where offerings are made of flowers and fruit!

As we turned the corner past the Morning Market, we stumbled across vendors selling their wares along the street, as well as locals playing cards, while the rich smells of kebabs cooking filled the air!

I think I’ve mentioned the sidewalk issue here in Vientiane!  We have never seen anything like it!  We are happy to report that, despite all of our walking today, no bones were broken!

We even walked by pet store row.  I’m posting only the sweet pictures as some of the cages contained way too many bunnies and birds for my liking.  But the puppies...OHMYGOODNESS, the puppies!  Let’s just say, we got our puppy fix!

And we walked by a man out spray painting his car!  After all, it seemed like a good day to spray paint your car!  Right?

We also saw slumbering Tuk Tuk drivers — resting in their hammocks in the back of their vehicles!

Our first destination was the COPE Visitor Centre.  We learned that Laos is the most bombed country per capita in the world.  Needless to say war, and the aftermath, SUCKS.

Right next door to COPE we saw the Sisavangvong Statue and then walked through the amazing Vat Simeuang.

We continued our walk and took in the Vat Sisaket and Hor Phakeo.  We really didn’t like all the rules!  No shoes.  No knees showing.  And no inside pictures.  WHAAAAT?

When it was time for dinner, we walked back to That Dam Wine House by That Dam Stupa, cuz who can EVER get enough of That Dam Stupa!

Oh, what a walk we enjoyed today!  Ground was covered, people, ground was covered!  And we rewarded ourselves with a YOU KNOW WHAT!
