THEY ARRIVED! THEY ARRIVED!
Matt and Val finally arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia! And, we’re happy to report, they survived their first Tuk Tuk ride as well!
After lunch, Steve and Nansie went back to work, and Val and I kept pinching ourselves saying, “Can we even believe we are half way around the world together in CAMBODIA?”
Matt and Val are like John and I—they just wanted to experience daily life in Cambodia! So what better place to experience THAT then at the Russian Market! Val got right down to business, trying to tic off items to take home to family members!
We cut our time short (sooo sorry Matt and Val) and John and I headed back to the room where I promptly went to bed! John met up with the gang for cocktails at Sora Sky Bar, a beautiful roof top bar overlooking the city!
John said it wasn’t the best of sunsets, but it looked pretty AMAZING to me!
So, our first day together didn’t go as planned, but it was still memorable! Val sent us pictures of Bentley and we can’t keep from laughing! Here he is, being dropped off back home (IN A TUK TUK!!!!) after a day at doggy daycare!
We met up with Steve and Nansie at Friends Restaurant for lunch. It was WONDERFUL, as always!
The food served there is not only DELICIOUS, but it is BEAUTIFULLY presented! And remember, the restaurant hires disadvantaged kids and teaches them to prepare the food and wait on tables. Our young server was delightful and spoke English well! Nice job, Friends Restaurant!

Matt, however, was MUCH more interested in the car parts area! (If you know Matt, this WILL NOT come as a surprise!) 🤣🤣 John and Matt spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME looking at, of all things, DOOR HARDWARE! I thought I was going to die! (Not because they were looking at door knobs and such, seriously—I am used to that), but I really felt like I was going to pass out. (And if you’ve ever been to the Russian Market, you just know you DO NOT want to end up on THOSE floors!) 😳

Wide awake this morning at 1:00AM and I FINALLY feel BETTER, thank goodness! For tomorrow the four of us are flying to Siem Reap!
