THE RUSSIAN MARKET, THE CENTRAL MARKET IN PHNOM PENH!
We decided today would be MARKET DAY here in Phnom Penh! So we grabbed a Tuk Tuk and went to the RUSSIAN MARKET! OMGoodness, is all we can say! It was bustling with activity, and FULL of vendors selling EVERYTHING under the sun! The food booths were the absolute BEST!
Then we put our lives on the line with another Tuk Tuk ride to Central Market! We have learned to NEVER look straight ahead! It is frightening, to say the least! But it somehow works! The cars, trucks, rickshaws, Tuk Tuk’s, mopeds all veering in and out of traffic, it is really something to see!
The Tuk Tuk’s here are a lot more comfortable as the seats are forward facing. And the app REALLY helps, as most of the drivers don’t speak or understand English (just like in Vientiane)!
Welcome to Central Market, a much more sane shopping experience!
We stopped for a bite to eat and to rest our weary, WARM bones! Then off again to walk the streets and take in the sights (and smells)!
We weren’t the only ones with weary bones! 🤣🤣🤣
Clearly, this town needs a proofreader!
Again, we feared for our lives on the ride home! Happy to say, we made it in one piece!
Happy we made it one piece so we could enjoy this! And enjoy it we did!
It just COULDN’t have been a better Market Day here in Phnom Penh, Cambodia! We are thrilled to be here!

Can you hear what we heard poolside? We are assuming that it is the afternoon chanting of the monks, considering Cambodia is 97% Buddhist. Pretty cool, eh?
