SIEM REAP AND “THE CIRCLE OF LIFE”!!!
This photo depicts a new version of “The Circle of Life” that we learned today. Just ask us; we promise to tell! 🤣🤣🤣
We met up with our tour guide, Rithy, (THANK YOU, Gill, for the recommendation) who we all fell in love with immediately! He took us to a lake (that was really low being the dry season—and really brown being the dry season). We had a boat, a driver, a helper, and Rithy, who brought us lots and lots of food and lots and lots of stories!
FINALLY, Rithy opened the cooler and brought out the Angkor and Cambodia beer! CHEERS! And for dinner we enjoyed beef satay, fried peanuts with local spices, French baguettes with Pate’ and papaya pickle salad, fish patties and a few tropical fruits for dessert! Oh, what a meal it was!
And then it was time to see a Siem Reap Sunset over the water! What a delight!
The four of us took a LONG flight (45 minutes to be exact) to Siem Reap, Cambodia! John and I were prepared!
Matt and Val—not so much! 🤣🤣
We checked into our Boutique Hotel, which was ADORABLE! It had a lovely pool with a lovely pool bar) which we had NO TIME to use! John did jump in for a moment...

We drove out to see a floating village, which is one of 178 in the area! It was truly UNBELIEVABLE! We passed by a floating Catholic Church, a floating Temple, and a floating grocery store! You name it, they had it!
