LAO NATIONAL MUSEUM, TEXTILE MUSEUM, AND PHA THAT LUANG

Soooo, this sure made our morning! Thanks, Jonathan, for keeping our girl HAPPY!

This made our morning as well—clean clothes from the laundry man down the street!  And it only cost us $7.00!  We wondered, however, that if we would have paid a bit more, could we have gotten them back wrinkle free? 🤣🤣 🤣

Today, we decided to visit the last three “must sees” marked on the Vientiane city map.

1. LAOS NATIONAL MUSEUM:  Okay, so to be honest, museums aren’t really our thing.  But in honor of our Daughter-in-Law, Chloe, who LOVES museums, we thought we’d give it a try!  We paid a nominal entrance fee and were told we had a half hour until they closed for lunch!  So, we hurried! (We could come back when they opened an hour later, if we chose to.)

Chloe, we thought you would enjoy these displays!

Besides that, there were pictures and several displays of things that the President used throughout his life.  We get it—we are truly lacking in passion for museums!  But when we were escorted out because they were closing for lunch — we are embarrassed to admit, we were OKAY with that. 😳 I WAS left with a desire to learn more about the history of Laos.  That counts for SOMETHING, doesn’t it?

2. TEXTILE MUSEUM:  This was our favorite stop of the day!  The grounds were peaceful, the displays were informative, and we enjoyed tea and jack fruit after the tour!

How they made the tea and how the tea turned from blue to purple with the addition of a bit of lime juice was neat!

3. PHA THAT LUANG:  And that’s about all we can say about this stop!  Apparently, we just need to read up about the Stupas in town!  It was HOT, I was made to wear a long skirt, there wasn’t much to see, what more can we say?  However, the Buddha statues were cool!

4. DINNER and a MASSAGE: Clearly, the highlights of the day!  (Just kidding!). We were happy that we made it through all the “must sees” and SO MUCH MORE!  The experiences in Vientiane have been soooo memorable!  (As was our dinner and our massage tonight!)
