TOURING KUALA LUMPUR BY BUS!

My feet WERE SO TIRED!  We all WERE SO TIRED!!  Jet lagged, hot, and after miles of walking, I was the first to succumb last night to bed at 8PM!  Everyone else followed shortly thereafter—at least I’m guessing they did!  Who knows, I was dead asleep in my cozy bed!

What a day we had yesterday!  We decided to take the Hop On Hop Off bus tour throughout downtown KL with several of the stops earmarked to get off and see.

STOP ONE: Taman Eko Rimba

What an amazingly beautiful park, smack dab in the middle of KL!  We chose the Canopy Walk, which was FABULOUS, but you had to climb down say 25 steps after each swinging bridge.  That meant, when we were at the end, we had to walk back up to the entrance!  OMG!  Straight up a steep incline all the way...me, in Birkenstock’s!  (Not a good choice for climbing mountains! 😳🤣😳). The path gave way to some awesome photo ops, at least!

I am happy to report we all survived the LONG trek to where the bus picked us back up!  But man, were we a sweaty MESS!  Oh, and at the bus pick up point was The Upside Down House—apparently an Instagram favorite!

STOP TWO: Aquaria KLCC (Aquarium Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre)

Once we found where the aquarium was located (SIGNS, PEOPLE!!!), and after walking more MILES to get there, we all agreed it was one of the best we had ever seen!  And we’ve been to a lot of aquariums in our day—it’s kind of a Diedam thing!

I didn’t take a lot of photos inside as I never have much luck photographing fish.  Just trust me in saying, if you are ever in KL, it’s a MUST SEE!

THIRD STOP:  Jalan Petaling Street (China Town)

John and I LOVE venturing through China Towns, Chloe had never experienced one, and we were in dire need of beach towels, a bottle opener, salt and pepper, and a pair of  low crotch harem pants, so what better place to stop than KL’s Petaling Street!

Petaling Street did not disappoint!  The smells!  The food items! The vast array of “whatever you thought you would never need”!!!  Row after row of bright, colorful items—have I mentioned the smells?  After much searching, we found our beach towels (10 ringgets each - approximately $2.50) and Chloe found the PERFECT pair of harem pants!  SUCCESS in China Town!

FOURTH STOP:  Sri Mahamariamman Temple

This Hindu temple was not the easiest to find (my poor feet!), but find it we did!  And it was soooo worth the extra miles!!!!

After we had seen every nook and cranny of the temple, it was time to find a cold beer (man, did we ever earn that!) and a place to eat Peking Duck!  Would you even believe that nowhere around China Town was there a restaurant that served Peking Duck!  Unbelievable!

FIFTH STOP: Hard Rock Cafe, KL

John has always collected t-shirts from Hard Rock Cafes, so we taxied (7 ringgets - less than $2.00) our way through some crazy streets to get to the HRC in KL!  Oh my goodness, did it feel good to finally sit down, drink a beer (at least for John and I), and eat a meal!  Needless to say, after the last bite was eaten, Jason, Chloe, John and I were struggling to keep our eyes open!  No one even thought to take a picture! (You’re welcome!)  I guess you would call that a sign of a VERY GOOD DAY!
