TODAY WE TRAVEL!
Today we leave Penang by ferry (the return trip is free!) and then by train to head back to Kuala Lumpur! It’s been kind of like a vacation from a vacation! I just wanted to take a moment, while traveling, to post a few things so as not to forget them!
We all know that Dorian stinks and is prohibited just about EVERYWHERE! But what about Mangosteen? Well, John asked a staff member at the hotel and, apparently, Mangosteen is prohibited because it stains! Learn something new every day!
The Holiday Inn Penang (Batu Ferringhi) is a wonderful place to stay! It boasts a phenomenal breakfast buffet, and I particularly enjoyed the pool!
While many of the street vendors are closed during the day...
...they all come alive in the evening! One of my favorite things to do in Penang (besides getting daily massages!) is walking through the Night Market and haggling with the vendors!
It dawned on me as John and I were sitting in the train station, that it doesn’t matter what color your skin is, what language you speak, what outfit you may be wearing, or where you are from....EVERYONE, it seems, is addicted to their cell phones and taking selfies—even Buddhist monks!
Several people have commented on John’s weight loss (60 pounds) and how he is wasting away, so this picture cracked me up! No, that is NOT John in the luggage compartment, I promise! 🤣🤣🤣
