RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS!

It was Sunday morning here in Kuala Lumpur, so we Googled “Catholic churches” and found one not too far away, Church of the Holy Rosary.  It was an old, beautiful church with a friendly congregation.

John and I enjoyed perusing the bulletin to see if we recognized any of the names!  Clearly, we did not!

During mass, a Malaysian woman sitting behind us tapped John on the shoulder and pointed to his pocket (where his wallet was held).  At first we were confused, but then she motioned so that we knew that she meant “watch out for pickpockets!”  We thanked her for the reminder and John moved said wallet to a front, velcro pocket!

After mass was over this woman and her husband came up and asked if we were new to the Parrish.  We spoke for several minutes.  They were absolutely delightful!

We booked a Grab and headed over to a massage place that John had found online with excellent reviews!

Lo and behold, we found out we needed a booking for our massages!  Dang!  The lady made a phone call (we assume she called some poor masseuse in to work) and told us she could take us both...in an hour!  John needed a haircut and there was no Internet to be found, so he asked a guy walking by if there was a barber anywhere close. Luckily, the guy spoke good English and told us, “I can’t remember the name of the barber, but he is close by.  Hop in and I will drive you there!”  And so he did!  And John got what he described as an “AWESOME” haircut by a sweet Indian man!

At 11:30 sharp we were in line for our massages!  John always gets a “Bau Bau” massage (soft soft) and I usually opt for a “Nak Nak” massage (hard hard).  But today I had to revert to a “No Nak” massage that was the BEST EVER!  After a quick browse through Central Market, we Grabbed it home for some pool time, followed by cocktails on the balcony while watching a storm blow through, pondering what in the world we should have for dinner! (What happened to the left justification of this blog?  Oh Blogger, what the heck?)

After a day blessed with random acts of kindness, me thinks a curry sounds mighty tasty!

Sandy, I can’t remember...what did we hear? The church, of course, reminded me of the Diedam boys!
