ON A MISSION!
This morning, John was on a mission to find a vendor street that we had seen at a distance from our pool. With only a visual in mind, we began walking. Several dead ends later, we decided to Grab it to the Quill Mall, which looked to be in the vicinity of where we wanted to be. We were glad we did! The malls we’ve been in thus far have been decorated for the upcoming Chinese New Year, but today there was a celebration going on!
After savoring the air conditioning and enjoying the show, we hit the streets once again! We asked several people for directions and they all agreed, “Go left.” But John’s gut told him, “Go right.” So we went right and walked and walked and walked! Mind you, it’s merely in the 90’s here in Kuala Lumpur! And mind you, John is NEVER interested in walking in Florida or Indiana. Get him in a foreign country (blazing hot or not), however, and he becomes the Energizer Bunny! 🙄 Just when I was about to say, “Enough is enough,” we turned a corner and, lo and behold, this is what we saw...
We have no idea what this area is called but will research it when we get back to the condo. It wasn’t like China Town or Little India, as many nationalities were represented. But the smells emanating from the food vendors were delightful and most of the wares that were being sold (at least by American standards), were quite comical!
This one is for you, Chloe! I’d mail you home a piece if I thought it would make it!
After we walked by every single booth, enjoyed the aroma of every kind of food, and saw every last item that was being pedaled, we grabbed a taxi to the Petra Mall and found a celebration going on there as well!
John enjoyed his favorite Dim Sum for lunch before we headed back to the condo for a minute or two of R&R before being picked up for a dinner with an old business associate.
Then off for a wonderful evening at Saira, where we enjoyed magnificent Malay cuisine and delightful conversation with Kenneth and Susan!
